ABOUT THE TRANQUILITY PARLOR
Before completing undergraduate studies, her instructors insisted that she complete a nurse externship program. She was blessed to have two opportunities to work in this capacity as a certified
nursing assistant (nurse extern) at teaching hospitals; one in
Durham and the other in Greenville, NC.
After graduation, her first job as a Registered Nurse Applicant was
at a small rural hospital. That initial work experience was lasting
and has provided her many jobs in various roles from staff nurse to clinical instructor, to multiple leadership roles.
She decided to leave the corporate world to be present for her
family, yet she continued to receive phone calls from family,
friends, and neighbors inquiring about their health concerns.
In the aftermath of the global pandemic and witnessing the
murder of George Floyd, she knows that she still has something
good to offer her communities. She has done the work while being
perseverant to hone her holistic skills.

The Tranquility Parlor was birthed to help nurses and professional women working in the health industry who are exhausted; so that you relax, and leave refreshed using holistic touch to relieve stress, manage pain, elevate self-care, and enhance their wellness journeys. By activating the parasympathetic nervous system, receivers gain rest, some mental clarity, and physical well-being. Thus, we help encourage survivors in the healthcare industry to thrive balancing work and life. The Tranquility Parlor aims to be a beacon of relaxation and wellness for healthcare professionals. By offering a unique blend of holistic modalities and customizable wellness services, we strive to make a positive impact on the lives of those who continue to dedicate themselves to the well-being of others. Research indicates that before a vaccine was even developed, countless nurses of color lost their lives caring for patients diagnosed with COVID-19. Many providers took their own lives due to the tremendous stresses involved in providing compassionate care during uncertain times. Currently the healthcare workforce has staffing shortages due to various issues, and now many surviving spouses, children, families and colleagues are traumatized. In addition, in 2020 the American Nurses Association presented its 'Racial Reckoning Statement' which acknowledges past actions that have negatively impacted nurses of color and perpetuated systemic racism. So, the path to help those traumatized by life’s experiences began.
